If Puerto Rico becomes a state, I would hope Spanish be REQUIRED for all level students. The government should be run in spanish, and cultural celebrations should be Puerto Rican led.
I do not want Puerto To lose its culture, I do not want Hawaii. I just want My beloved Puerto Rico to finally be able to have a better governmental system.
The horrors of colonialism
Sounds like PR is gonna have to give up some of the stuff that it has. English would probably be required for all level students like it is for the rest of US students. The Government would be run in English, like it is in all other states.
PR as a state would probably help establish Spanish as a second language for the US though, if the people pushed for it. Just keep in mind that Puerto Rico won’t have a list of demands that will be met, it will have a list of wants that will be negotiated democratically as is the tradition of our nation.
